So many Daffodils!
Ok, this doesn’t convey the full daffodil scope. This is maybe 1/3 of the daffodils left to plant. Not counting the ones I already did. All in all they covered a F250 long truck bed. All of it. Do you know how many daffodils that is?
It’s a lot is all I can say.
Roger’s grandparents have a gorgeous planting of daffodils, mostly the old King Alfred and a few Butter and Eggs types. Absolutly stunning in the the spring usually.
They haven’t been dug up for a few years because of illness in the family. So half of these beauties aren’t blooming this year at all they’re so cramped. We heard a rumor of a road widening that way and hurried to dig some up before it was too late. Luckily the rumor is just a rumor. So we dug up maybe a twentieth of the bulbs and took most home. We did plant a few at Roger’s parents, but most we took home with us. Hooray!
However… This is a lot of daffodils.
I’ve been planting them for 2 weeks now. I have half a wheelbarrow left. I may not survive these daffodils.
But next year, oh wow, it will be unbelievably gorgeous!
A boy and his first BIG shovel!
Roger got part of a beautiful old peony as well. We planted it in several different places to make sure it would survive.
My two guys! Aren’t they great!
