It’s for the Furniture Bank of Atlanta. A wonderful cause that I never thought about before they asked me. Then I definitely wanted to help.

What if you lose absolutely everything? Fire, from a battered women’s shelter, you were homeless? It doesn’t do much good to finally afford to move to a decent apartment for a fresh start if you don’t have a kitchen table or sofa. And those take a lot of money to get, even used.

We think about clothes to cover our backs but having a desk to work at or a sofa to relax on are huge things too. It’s a one time charity to get people back into a home. Wow!

An All that Jazz theme! Isn’t it going to be fun. Gorgeous silk twill and I’ll make the cushion totally luxurious. As well as fun! I’m adding rich reds and golds next.

I picked up this chair at the Furniture Bank. It’s quite a nice one, I think. They had a very nice selection of furniture, looked like a really good used store. It just looked nice and the people there were wonderful. Right in the middle of loading up someone’s new home. I bet when people come for help they feel completely welcome.

I’ve started painting the chair. Yes, in my kitchen since I need my desk!
