In the Florida Everglades, if you wait a few minutes beside the ocean, you'll see a great blue heron stalking its prey. The bird will patiently wait for hours, lifting one foot slowly, then the next, its beak poised for fishing.

Great Blue Herons are magnificent birds, with all the colors of grey in their plumage. I love watching them patiently fishing at the edge of a salt marsh, their bold feathers blending into the dappled grass.
