Walking through the city, one of the first things I noticed about Savannah was the doorways. Beautiful wrought iron gates, intricate railings, smartly polished brass knockers. And everywhere, there were flowers. These doorways proclaim that Savannah is truly a walking city, where front doors are not only used, but welcome any visitor.
